Just Tap’d Craft Beer Fest – its that time again!

Macon – When is it Craft Beer time in Macon GA? ANYTIME!! But especially in the spring when Just Tap’d throws its Craft Beer Festival. It comes on the heels of the Cherry Blossom festivities, and before school lets out in May.

From our point of view at Ocmulgee Brewpub, the festival is a great time for everyone – and we have prime seats to enjoy it right off of Poplar and 2nd street! It is also a great event for Macon. It brings so many people downtown – people who may not have been downtown in months, or in some cases years! It also brings visitors from out of town to see what Macon has to offer. We love that it brings people together!

It is a super busy time here at the Brewpub, and of course we do our “Hangover Brunch” from 11-2 on the Sunday after the festival, which just extends the fun for everyone. Get your tickets early and plan to make a weekend out of it – its a good time!

Back To Back Macon Burger Week Champion! 2018 & 2019

A big THANK YOU goes out to all of our customers who came out, ate and voted, and to our staff for their tireless work in making sure each customer left happy!   We love our staff and the amount of work and heart that they put into every burger – from coming up with ideas, to deciding on each burger, to those early mornings of Burger Week that started before sunrise – grinding meat and prepping all the special ingredients to making sure every burger went out with that special amount of care.

In 2018 we sold about 2000 Juliette’s during Burger Week, and in 2019 we sold a whopping 3391 Eat A Peach burgers, which topped the most sold in a single location even for Atlanta Burger Week  – proving that Macon Georgia loves a good burger!

Ocmulgee Brewpub won 2018 Macon Burger Week with the Juliette burger – made with a house-ground beef patty, topped with a fried green tomato, bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce and a balsamic sweet onion remoulade.

2019 Macon Burger Week was also a success for Ocmulgee Brewpub with the Eat A Peach burger – made with a house-ground beef patty topped with peach pico de gallo, smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese, and basil aioli.

Both of these Burgers are now on the Everyday Menu!

Ocmulgee Brewpub to Open in Downtown Macon

MACON – Join us in welcoming Central Georgia’s first and only brewpub, serving both house-made craft beers and delectable farm-to-table burgers.

Welcome to Ocmulgee Brewpub “Where the Water Boils Up!”

We didn’t choose Ocmulgee Brewpub, it chose us. For thousands of years the Ocmulgee River has been the lifeblood of this area, and at the heart of Macon’s economic and ecological systems. We believe that the artistry and craftsmanship used in brewing our beers allows us to bottle a sense of adventure and creativity – pardon the pun – so that others can enjoy the labors of our hard work and the joys of fermentation. We believe the best of Macon will “boil up” around our tables & taps, much like the great societies and cultures that weave a vibrant fabric of history and civilization throughout Macon’s past, present & future.

Ocmulgee Brewpub embodies a return to an era of community where food was sourced naturally, conversation served as a civic foundation, Macon citizens were explorers seeking new frontiers, and most importantly, where people enjoyed well-crafted fermented beverages!

The customer experience you will find at Ocmulgee Brewpub will be unlike any other in Macon (or the Southeast for that matter). We will curate the best brews, gourmet burgers, super food salads and hand cut fries in town, served by friendly & knowledgeable staff. When you trust your time with us, you won’t be disappointed. We aim to exceed your expectations so that you can be sure you will have a one-of-a-kind high quality experience. Ocmulgee Brewpub selects only the finest grains, hops, yeast, and Macon water
(best tasting in the country) to form their brews.

In addition to serving excellent beer and food, Ocmulgee Brewpub will have an intentional focus on highlighting the active lifestyle and environment surrounding the Ocmulgee River, whether that be by biking the Heritage Trail, hiking at the National Monument, or floating the Ox Bow at Amerson River Park.

It’s time that Macon went back to the source of our adventure. Business or pleasure; it doesn’t get any better than craft beer, good food, the Ocmulgee River and great people. Come join us Where the Water Boils Up, on Wednesday, March 30th at 4:30PM for our unveiling event at 484 Second Street, Macon. Our management team and partners, Clark Nexsen Architectural/Engineering Firm, along with support from the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, will be on site to officially announce the first and only brewpub in all of Middle Georgia, unveil artist concept designs, answer questions, and take input on our concept drawings. Georgia craft beers and artisan style pub food will be served as well. We believe Ocmulgee Brewpub will serve as a community crown jewel for many years to come while reminding residents of the rich Macon heritage that surrounds us.
